Abstract

 

It is a system that allows as institution to conduct and carry out examinations through the

 

internet since its convenient, quicker and easier. It allows to conduct examination anywhere and

 

at any time. Nowadays most institutions are carrying out their exams online to avoid the

 

bottlenecks associated with pen and paper work. However, one of the most important problems ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM 2 to online examination is cheating using technology, since most people are used with technology

 

and updated with latest knowledge.

 

Technology over a number of years has successfully supported online examination system and

 

consciously enhanced examination. It has replaced the traditional way, the pen and paper method

 

of writing examination, which has been there for years because of the problems associated with

 

it; for instance, delay of the exam results taking long time to be released and various

 

malpractices in examinations. Some studies developed allowed creating a test from the system of

 

the question bank and carrying out academic and non-academic examinations. Also addressing

 

drawbacks associated with the pen and paper work method when conducting out examinations,

 

these system developed multiple choice examination system and online questions for the general

 

chemistry. At some points some studies also examined security issues.

traditional hand written examination and manual evaluation are generating a result using a

 

computer.

c) Similar to OMR MCCQ examination requires to answer by writing appropriate answer for

 

different hand written option and the evaluation using computer.

 

d) improvement to this online MCQ examination in which the user is required to choose correct

 

answers by using radio button and compare the answer with the given key.

 

E) It require use of phonetic algorithms which is used to compare the phonetic equality between

 

given words.

 

f) Also there is introduction of pattern recognition application were an object is recognized using

 

particular characters like Neuro network and probability density estimation.

teaching and learning materials being far from one another, different methods are used in order to

 

evaluate activities to be conducted much more effectually and efficiently. Most institutions

 

providing distance learning are required to use central examination system in order to evaluate

 

the success of the students. ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM 6 Types of Distance Education

 

Its types can be considered as such:

 

A) Situation where an instructor and student do not meet in a way, this means education is

 

carried out independent from time and place. To distribute content in this type of education,

 

World Wide Web or email can be used.

 

b) It is where education is carried out completely independent from place but half independent

 

from time. It involves video conference system where questions can be asked and answered

 

maturely.

 

c) Situation where education is carried out face to face in a class with an electronic environment. Centralized Examination System, some universities provide web based distance education

 

through the public and private organizations. Success of this is based on giving decent results in

 

terms of student, tutor and university. Also, assessment and evaluation method should be

 

determined based on the type of application and the way of training. The web based distance

 

education system is perceived and applied as uploading lecture notes to internet it decreases the

 

quality of the education, such units need web based software where they can follow and carry out

 

distance education and centralized examination system operations.

 

Distance Education on Central Examination Systems

 

The main feature of this is that information exchanged between units and individuals using the

 

system can be stored easily and regularly. The system performs the following: distribution of

 

students to rooms in order to know in which room they will carry out their exams and also ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM 7 distribution of proctors to rooms in order to know which rooms and positions they will be placed.

 

Users involved include; administrators, unit users, instructors and students and they both access

 

the system through the same login screen. So this is a web based centralized examination system

 

that aids universities that provide distance learning to carry out centralized exams for their
