Chipotle Mexican Grill is a big restaurant chain; it was opened in 1993 by Steve Ells.
The chain offered the food of Mexican in 1,316 eateries, which were universally in the United
States (Chipotle, n.d.). The goal of Chipotle is "Food with Integrity? which focus on nature
and individuals. Chipotle use the food quality and promise to protect their interests in order to
defend their competitors (chipotle, n.d.). Today?s restaurant proprietors have a great deal
more on their plates than prepare and serving healthy food. So for restaurant, their most
important thing is serving fresh food.
?Society responsibility is enforcing every business as a way to contribute to the
community? (Ragas. M& Roberts, 2009). However, Chipotle claims their social
responsibility with three main points, food sources, ?Food with Integrity?, and focus on food
quality. First, the Chipotle?s food is all from the local farms, not the factory farms (chipotle,
n.d.). Then, Chipotle has a program of ?food with integrity?, which means you can get the
best quality food in Chipotle. Also, Chipotle has a program about environmental protection.
Social responsibility proponents feature that good Chipotle will be compensated in the
commercial centre and consequently can 'do well by doing great a contention alluded to as
the business case (oikos-international, n.d.). This research will find out the influence of the
Chipotle?s social responsibility related to people?s choice, dose the ?food with integrity?
makes people pay attention, and why the Chipotle can be successful for so many years. In
addition, the hypothesis is most people who take our survey, will support the Chipotle,
because it is healthy and helpful. Methods CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GILL?S SOCIETY RESPONSIBILITY 3 It is a very important to know the public opinion on Chipotle?s food. Therefore, a
survey investigation is a very helpful way to do it. So this research will use the questionnaire,
it will be including 10 multiple choices and 5 open question. At first, we will ask three
general information question about their gender, age and year in school. The first question we
will ask about their eating habits, after that, they need to answer the question about the
Chipotle?s responsibility to society. If the respondents who support the Chipotle, he or she
will answer the other question on the survey by follow the reasons for their support. The
reasons will be: healthy, fresh, and good for local farms. If the respondents who disagree with
the Chipotle, the reasons will be: do not like Mexican food, I do not think they serve fresh
and high quality food. The final question is the Chipotle?s ?Food with integrity? campaign
affects your choice when buying from them? The respondents can answer ?yes?, ?no? or ?I
do not know about this program?. For this paper survey, it will be randomly give to 60
people, including students, teachers, and visitors around the San Diego state university.
Results This paper surveys were randomly given to 60 people in the SDSU. Surveys are
including 26 (43%) Males and 34 (57%) Females. The age range is from 17 to 31. There were
44 (73%) people are in range 17 to 21; 12 (20%) people are in range 22 to 27; 4 (7%) people
in range 29 to 31. For the year in school, there were 11 (18%) people are freshmen; 23 (38%)
people are sophomore; 14 (23%) people are junior; 8 (13%) people are senior; 4 (7%) people

concerned about your health when it comes to eating habits??, there were 52% people choose
Sometimes, but not really; 33% people choose Most of the time; 7% people choose 100%, I
cannot eat unhealthy food; 8% people choose Nope. I eat whatever I feel like eating. These
two question in order to show those people may not too much care about the healthy when
they choose food. CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GILL?S SOCIETY RESPONSIBILITY 7 For the question of the Chipotle?s food, there are 77% people think the Chipotle are
doing a good job with serve fresh and high quality food also healthy Mexican food. 23%
people think they are not. That shows a lot of people think Chipotle is done well for their
food. On the other hand, that means Chipotle is pay attention to their food. According to the
LA Times, the article ?Chipotle hopes free burritos and new food-safety efforts will bring
back customers? said that because of E. coli, Chipotle?s sales was decline, the Chipotle try to
get back their customers by using a new food-safety procedure. Chipotle is trying to use a
new food safety program to protect their food. Therefore, the good restaurant is supposed to
ensure food safety, it also is part of their social responsibility. However, according to our
survey, the data shows there are 77% people think Chipotle served fresh and high quality
food, that is support the Chipotle is doing well on their food.
Does people know about the Chipotle?s social responsibility? For this question, we asked
people about the Chipotle?s ?Food with integrity", there were 23% people know about the
Chipotle?s ?Food with integrity" campaign, in which they use healthy and natural ingredients
from local farmers instead of buying their products from big factories. 77% people did not
know about any of the Chipotle?s ?Food with integrity? campaign. That is the most important
question of this survey, the data shows that there are many people did not know about the
Chipotle?s ?Food with integrity?. According to the Chipotle, ?Food with integrity ?is use
healthy and natural ingredients from local farmers instead of buying their products from big
factories. Therefore, Chipotle?s ?Food with integrity? is their main social responsibility.
According the article ?Going Green Puts Chipotle in the Black?, the author said that
?Chipotle Mexican Grill implements green business practices to create sustainable success.?

?Food with integrity? is the most important program. this program it not just to ensure the
safety of food, it has a lot of social benefits (Chipotle). For example, they help the farmers, CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GILL?S SOCIETY RESPONSIBILITY 8 buying from local farmers instead of the factory. Second, they reduce fertilizer and
antibiotics, which is good for the environment.
For the last question, we asked their opinion of Chipotle donates a percentage of their
profits to good causes, there were 3 people strongly agree,16 people agree,40 people are
neutral, 1 people disagree. About them donates, according to the Chipotle, they supply
opportunities for ?K-12 schools, youth community groups, university groups, community
gardens and food and sustainable agriculture groups to have in-restaurant fundraisers where
50% of sales during the event go to the group? (Chipotle). That also is part of Chipotle?s
social responsibility, and they are doing on it, which is good for society.
In conclusion, this survey it is clear to know people?s opinion of Chipotle?s social
responsibility. Such as we can know about what is their eating habits, why they want to
choose Chipotle and how do they think about the Chipotle?s social responsibility. Although,
this is just a sample survey in San Diego State University. But overall, this is very helpful
